Week #23 - Elder Stevenson

Image
Chinese new year was this past Sunday so we have been getting fed a lot of good food from the members. Last Friday Elder Gary Stevenson visited my mission. He taught us about receiving spiritual revelation and growing after the trial of your faith. It was a great experience and one I will remember for the rest of my life. Our friend brother zhuo is on baptismal date and we are excited for him. He is a very logical thinker who has a hard time receiving spiritual revelation but we are helping him progress. Chinese is still very hard but I can understand most of what is being said. Scripture of the Week: John 14:26 But the  a Comforter ,  which is  the  b Holy Ghost , whom the Father will send in my  c name , he shall  d teach  you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you

Week #21 - I love to see the Temple

This week we were able to take two of our new convert friends to the temple! We did baptisms and confirmations in Chinese and Brother Liu had the opportunity to baptize! It is great to see the light of Christ in people's lives as they progress along the covenant path. My trainer goes home next week so I will be out of training next Tuesday. I look forward to whatever changes are coming my way.  Today I finished reading the Book of Mormon again and I would like to testify of its truthfulness. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and contains the fulness of the gospel. It really is as Jospeh Smith said, "the keystone to our religion". Not because of the stories or people in the book, but because the gospel principles it lays out for us and the answers it contains to challenging questions. It is physical evidence that the gospel is restored on the earth today and that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I hope you all have a good week and make some time to rea...

Week #20 Happy New Year!

Image
你们好! All is well in southern California. It has cooled down and been raining for the past couple days. This past week I had the opportunity to go on exchanges with Elder Ramos, a Spanish elder in my mission. He was able to teach all the Spanish speakers we ran into and I was able to teach all the Chinese speakers we ran into. It was a great experience and it makes me think of D&C 90:11 which says: 11 For it shall come to pass in that day, that every man shall hear the fulness of the gospel in his own tongue, and in his own language, through those who are ordained unto this power, by the administration of the Comforter, shed forth upon them for the revelation of Jesus Christ. Today is that day! It is wonderful that we are seeing the prophecies of scriptures fulfilled in our day! I am excited to see what miracles the new year brings and how I can learn more about the Savior this year. Thank you all! -李长老
